International Schools in Andalucia, SpainEducation
is, perhaps, the biggest concern of those who move to Andalucia with children.
For young children, learning Spanish at the local school will come easily to
them. Sometimes parents are worried that their children’s ability to read and
write English is not as good as it could be! In this case, there are many UK educational
materials available through Amazon.co.uk Some parents choose an international school, although these are mostly found on the coast, and are generally quite expensive. They often have the advantage of preparing children for either Spanish or British higher education, depending on your particular preference. The international schools listed below are all members of the NABSS (Association of British schools in Spain). The final option is homeschooling your children! This option, increasingly popular in the US and the UK, is not well-known in Spain. Parents who wish to find out about homeschooling in Spain can visit www.geocities.com/crecersinescuela or www.educacionlibre.org (in Spanish only, unfortunately). The UK site www.education-otherwise.org provides valuable information on homeschooling generally.
